I stand beside the water's fleeting edge
And cast a sullen eye toward the sea
To fulfill my most honorable pledge

I loved my sunken ship, I can allege
And although my gaze fails to let me see

She's layed herself in depths too deep to dredge
Her horrible position causes me
To fulfill my most honorable pledge

Outcast to land and sea, I find me wedged
So when I wish to think of what could be

To shallow tides, I stare down from the ledge
While one more step would set my spirit free
To fulfill my most honorable pledge

As feathered wings upon my back are fledged
And both my ship and I lack misery
